I was a Senior Creative Artist at Ript Apparel in Chicago IL where I was mainly responsible for pop culture parody designs, but also designed the mascot and pieces of marketing collateral.
My time at Ript saw well over 100 designs from concept through to the press. All illustrations had to be made with the limits of a 5 or 8 colour press in mind.
THE GRIM RIPTER
The company wanted a mascot that fit in line with Rest In Peace Tees (in the beginning, shirts were only available for a day and then were allowed to "rest in peace").
The little Ripter was developed to help explain concepts, point to deals on the site, and appeared in e-mail newsletters and other marketing.
The Rippy "Character Sheet".
A "12 Days of Ript-mas" e-mail graphic.
Graphics for an "educational" e-mail to help explain the company's idea and its relationship with artists. Text was added by another designer afterwards.
